Welcome to the Indiana Buddhist Center
The Indiana Buddhist Center is a federally registered 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Buddhist institute that is centered in central Indiana. Most events are currently being held in Greenwood, just south of Indianapolis. Classes on Meditation and Tibetan Buddhism in the lineage of His Holiness the Dalai Lama are offered regularly in addition to other special events. Our resident teacher is Geshe Jinpa Sonam from Drepung Gomang Monastery in Mungood, India. The Indiana Buddhist Center is here...
to serve the public by being a local resource for
the people of central Indiana and beyond by providing a source of
accurate information on the religion and philosophy of Buddhism;
to provide a
center for religious services that are Buddhist in nature;
to
facilitate meeting places for common meditation, prayer, retreats, and
religious services for Indiana Buddhist and those sympathetic to the
Buddhist Dharma;

Not long before his death, the great historian Arnold Toynbee was asked to name what he considered to be most significant event or phenomenon of the 20th century. It was not one of the great world wars, nuclear fission, television, or the computer. It was, he said, "the coming of Buddhism to the West."
