Why become a member? IBC is a nonprofit organization that depends entirely on the generosity of all those involved. Great merit is earned by supporting a spiritual center, and there are personal benefits to membership as well. However, you do not need to be a member in order to participate in IBC. All teachings are free and open to the public.
Your membership dues enable IBC to:
pay for IBC's operational expenses: utilities, maintainance, etc.
pay for living expenses for Geshe Jinpa Sonam and the other precious resident monks
sponsor once in a lifetime events such as the Heart Shrine Relic Tour and the Bhutanese Monk Tour
pay fees associated with IBC's operation: for example, getting Geshe-la his green card
bring guest teachers (such as Khen Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Samten) to Indianapolis
make copies of the various texts used during teachings
Invitation to IBC's Annual Member Appreciation Night. An authentic Tibetan meal is prepared for all those in attendance
15% discount on any purchases made on IBC merchandise
The opportunity to vote in IBC board elections, run for IBC board positions, and attend monthly board meetings
And the best benefit... supporting a spiritual center that focuses on the development of inner peace and compassion!
An annual IBC membership is $60.00 for an individual and $90.00 for a family.
