Tenzin Namgyal
We are very fortunate to have Tenzin Namgyal (Tenam) as our translator. As Buddhism spread
from India to Tibet, it was the translators that made it possible for the new people to learn,
making their position extremely valuable. Historically, the translators were very learned in their
own right.
Education:
MA (First Year) in Buddhist Philosophy from Tibetan University, Sarnath, Varanasi, India.
BA from Hampshire College, MA in ‘International Human Rights Law’.

- Resident translator/interpreter at IBC, Indianapolis, IN - current status
- Board members of ITIM (International Tibet Independence Movement), TMBCC (Tibetan Mongolian and Buddhist Cultural Center) formerly called TCC (Tibetan Cultural Center), President of ITA (Indiana Tibetan Association) - current status
- Tibetan language teacher at IBC - current status
- Resident translator/Office manager at TMBCC, Bloomington, IN
- Research Assistant, Program in International Human Rights, Law School, IUPUI
- Translator/interpreter for exchange program for Tibetan University and five colleges (University of Massachusetts, Amherst College, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College and Hampshire College)
- Offered Buddhist interpretation services to several Tibetan Rinpoches and Geshes including H.H. Dorjee Lopon Rinpoche from Bhutan
