While not billed as a fund raiser, over $600 was raised to replenish IBC's treasury at "Mistletoe and Momos", our holiday party. Held on December 3 at the Sunblest Apartments Clubhouse in Fishers, the gathering featured an abundant buffet with plenty of momos courtesy of Geshe-la and a variety of desserts and appetizers brought by attendees. There was some friendly competition for the Tibetan and/or Buddhist-themed auction items which included books, calendars, cds, a dvd and hand-made jewelry. Wonderfully extravagant door prizes (gift bags filled with miscellaneous goodies like tea, incense, and books) were awarded to ten lucky raffle winners. The evening concluded with dancing, clapping and laughter. In every way, the night was a big success for IBC and friends!
A special thanks goes out to Geshe-la and Dawa , who appeared to create a feast out of thin air through their hard work. And also to Amy, Renea, Thia and Becky for putting this together. It was a tremendous success and it was fun for everyone! Thanks also to all who attended or contributed in any way. It is through all of your kindness and generosity that the Dharma continues to flourish here in central Indiana
