During the camping trip to attend the teachings of His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama's teaching in Madison, WI, several IBC members took the opportunity to visit Deer Park Buddhist Center which is named ater the place near Benaras where Buddha Shakyamuni gave his first teachings after attaining enlightenment. The community includes monks, nuns, and laypersons under the leadership of Geshe Lhundub Sopa, director of the Park since its founding in 1979.
